Morning After Pill service

Morning After Pill service

In a bit of a pickle? we can help.

Accidents happen — that's exactly what emergency contraception is for. It works best the sooner it's taken, and only before ovulation, so the same-day appointment matters. Recognise any of these? Book in and a pharmacist will take it from there.

How it works

One quick chat. One simple price.

No referral, no GP wait, no fuss. You'll have a free, private chat with a pharmacist who'll make sure it's the right option for you, then supply it the same day if it is. Treatment is always subject to a quick assessment.

NHS service

Get Emergency Contraceptives Free On The NHS

Includes your free consultation and emergency contraception supplied on the day, where suitable. No hidden extras. Remember: it works best taken as early as possible, and it won't protect against sexually transmitted infections.

How soon should I take it?

As soon as possible. Emergency contraception is more effective the earlier it is taken, and it only works before ovulation has occurred. Depending on the method, it can be used for up to three to five days after unprotected sex — but earlier is always better.

Is it always effective?

No method of emergency contraception is 100% effective. Effectiveness depends on the method used, where you are in your cycle, and how soon it is taken. Some medicines can also reduce how well it works, which is why a consultation is important. If your period is late, lighter than usual, or you have concerns, take a pregnancy test and seek advice.

What if I'm sick after taking it?

If you are sick within a few hours of taking an oral method, it may not have been absorbed and you could need a further dose or a different method. Contact a pharmacist or doctor for advice if this happens.

Does it protect me for the rest of my cycle?

No. Emergency contraception does not protect you against pregnancy from any later unprotected sex in the same cycle, and it does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. It is not intended as a regular form of contraception — a pharmacist can talk you through ongoing options.

Is it suitable for everyone?

Not always. Suitability depends on your individual circumstances, including any medicines you take and where you are in your cycle. A Pharmacist Independent Prescriber will assess this with you and will only supply emergency contraception where it is clinically appropriate, signposting you elsewhere if another option would suit you better.
